Ave GloriaAs the rest of the world recedes
Like an evanescent seed
As a trillion eyes watch
As I burn in vivid glory
Before I simply fade away
A searing star in sky-piercing ascent
Lightning bolt in reverse descend
Outshining a thousand other suns
Burning away the darkness
Scorching the grasping hands
A blazing Tower of Babel
[I burst before I reach Heaven]
Leaving behind a constellation of fire
