Honest Men Are Dead
The Measure Of A Man

How will you forge your soul?

Do you dare to touch the heating?
Can you take the savage beating?
Or would you rather be cheating?

How then would you stand?
On your own or with a band?

Will you always speak the truth
Even if it leads to your death
Or will you lie all the way
And flee down to the heath?

If to fight the good fight
And there are but none,
Would you be the one?
When you are all alone
With naught but fright?
Will you turn in flight?
Or fight the good fight?

Would you do these and die?
Or will you instead live a lie?

Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Speak the truth, always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong. That is your oath.
